An all-time great, the Superstar began its life as a basketball shoe back in 1970 and in its following years found itself on the feet of NBA greats Kareem Abdul Jabbar & Jerry West. Players were beginning to opt for leather shoes over canvas due to the increased support and protection they provided, and the Superstar built on this notion with the introduction of its iconic rubber 'shell-toe'. Later in life, the Superstar resonated with the hip-hop community, donned by the likes of RUN-DMC and The Beastie Boys. Turning 50 this year, this edition of the Superstar returns in an all-black colourway which coats the pair's leather uppers.
